Weekend party in Town
A weekend of festivities will liven up Petersfield over the August Bank Holiday. A cafe will operate on The Square from 6pm Saturday 26 August evening to 6pm Monday 27 August. There will be live music in The Square from 6-10pm on Saturday and Sunday evenings when the café will be licensed.
During the day on Sunday and Monday local societies and businesses will stage displays and activities, and there will be a market on the High Street. There will also be an exhibition by the Town Design Statement group, and more opportunity for feedback from the public on the future of development in Petersfield.
"This event will give a glimpse of how the centre of Petersfield could operate in the future,” said Petersfield Tomorrow Chairman Bob Ayer. “It gives a further opportunity for the people of Petersfield to give their views on future development in the town."
The festivities have been organised by Petersfield Tomorrow, a voluntary community body which is working with local people, and organistions, with the EHDC, and with the Town Council to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the Town.
